Samantha Lee Winward was born in Bolton, Greater Manchester on the 12th October 1985, she currently plays Katie Sugden in ITV's Emmerdale. She has recently done some Modelling for Lycos, which the images are in the Photo Gallery of this page

In 1998 she was offered a £2000 pound record deal for her singing but turned it down.

A keen actress, singer and model Sammy Winward got picked from her agency to attend the "Emmerdale" auditions in Leeds, West Yorkshire for the part of Katie Addyman in May 2001 and, of course, she got the part. She also passed all of her nine GCSEs in May - June 2002. Her sister Amy is studying Media at Manchester University.

She gave birth to their daughter, Mia, at home in Bolton on June 12, 2005

Sammy Winward was voted number 73 in FHM's 2006 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll.

She is Nominated for Sexyest Female Actress in the British Soap Awards 2007
